Prevention services include school and community based programs, small group intervention, individualized prevention counseling and outreach. This spectrum of prevention services is designed to raise awareness and reduce the spread of HIV/STD/Hepatitis infection across our community.

In Schuylkill County, prevention services are primarily provided by a Nurse Educator or a Prevention Specialist. All members of the SWS staff are specially trained in the fundamentals of HIV/STDs/Hepatitis and prevention counseling. Additionally, staff members regularly participate in ongoing training and skills building.
