Berks AIDS Network (BAN), a program unit of Co-County Wellness Services, was founded in 1985 as Berks AIDS Health Crisis. Originally an AIDS-specific organization, the agency now provides services related to sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and Hepatitis.
As of December 2006, Berks County ranked 6th, among Pennsylvania’s 67 counties, for cumulative AIDS cases – a position we have held with consistency since the start of the epidemic. Our STD clinic records over 1,500 patient visits per year and the incidence of STDs is on the rise.
All of our services are free and confidential without discrimination in regard to age, ancestry, citizenship, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, medical condition, disability, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation.
BAN is the only comprehensive HIV/STD service organization in Berks County.
